CHRISTINE M. SHANAHAN
MANAGING DIRECTOR OF DESIGN
Ms. Shanahan is an accomplished interior designer with more than twenty years of professional design experience. As Director of Design at HVS Design, she oversees and manages the design team as well as creates exceptional designs for the firms’ hospitality projects. In addition to hospitality, Ms. Shanahan has extensive experience with commercial, industrial, health care, assisted living, and residential projects.
Before joining the HVS Design team, Ms. Shanahan was a Project Director for an international hospitality interior design firm. Here she managed architectural and interior design projects from concept, programming, and space planning through construction documents, bidding, and construction administration. She also founded her own successful full-service interior design firm, Studio East Design, which she built on her solid reputation and repeat clients.
Ms. Shanahan received her Masters of Interior Design from Suffolk University and her Bachelor of Science degrees from Bentley College and the Fashion Institute of Technology. She is NCIDQ, a member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), and Network of Executive Women in Hospitality (NEWH).
JONATHAN C. NEHMER, AIA, ISHC
Mr. Nehmer is a licensed architect with expertise in all facets of architecture and interior design, design management, project management, and construction administration. His more than 30 years of experience includes work as an owner’s representative in the direction and management of commercial, institutional, residential, and hospitality projects.
Prior to founding Jonathan Nehmer + Associates, Inc., Mr. Nehmer worked on the feasibility, design, and construction of real estate development projects for several major corporations. His experience includes development of Ramada Hotels from 1984 to 1989, where he held the position of Vice President of Design and Technical Services. From 1978 to 1984, he was employed as an architect for the Marriott Corporation.
Mr. Nehmer has extensive experience in all phases of construction. He has managed construction from the bidding and negotiation stage through completion of the project. His proven abilities in construction and design give him the unique qualifications to provide total design and construction Project Management services for the client.
Regarded as an industry expert, Mr. Nehmer has been featured in numerous publications and discussion panels. He received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Maryland, and he is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the International Society of Hospitality Consultants. Mr. Nehmer also holds a certification from the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and has served as the vice president of the Potomac Valley chapter of the American Institute of Architects.
WARREN FELDMAN, AIA
Mr. Feldman has expertise in all facets of Project Management, Architecture and Interior Design, Design Management, and Construction Administration. His experience includes work as Architect and Owner’s Representative in the direction and management of commercial, institutional, educational, residential, and hospitality projects. Complementing his education in Architecture, Mr. Feldman completed his Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University and is a member of the Maryland Bar.
Prior to joining JN+A, Mr. Feldman worked on the feasibility, design, and construction of diverse projects including hotels, high-rise commercial corporate headquarters, educational facilities, civic projects, and housing development projects. His experience includes managing construction of several 5-10 million dollar projects at Hess Construction Company. From 1988 to 1994, he was employed as an Associate with Grimm and Parker P.C., where he was responsible for the Architecture and Construction Administration of numerous projects ranging in size from 1.5 million to 22 million dollars.
In addition to hotel, commercial, institutional, and residential design, Mr. Feldman has extensive experience in all phases of construction. He has managed construction from the bidding and negotiation stage through completion of the project.
He received his Bachelor and Master of Architecture degrees from Washington University in St. Louis and is a member of the American Institute of Architects. Mr. Feldman also served as Director of the Potomac Valley Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. He is also fluent in Spanish.
SCOTT P. ROSENBERG, AIA, MRICS, LEED AP, BD+C
Mr. Rosenberg is a licensed Architect with more than twenty years of experience in architecture and real estate development-related fields. His design experience includes hotels, restaurants, retail centers, office buildings, industrial, recreational, and institutional projects, and tenant improvements.
Prior to joining JN+A, Mr. Rosenberg was president of Rosenberg A+I, P.C., a full-service architecture, planning, and interiors firm founded in 1996. Mr. Rosenberg was formally trained as an architect, but also spent time on the owner’s side with First Washington Management and with CSN Management, the then-property management arm of Washington Real Estate Investment Trust.
At JN+A, Mr. Rosenberg is responsible for providing management and leadership to the architectural staff. He supervises the creation of project construction documents and specifications by the architectural staff. He reviews consultants’ contracts and coordinates with project team members and consultants. He provides in-house peer reviews for quality control and collaborates in critical thinking and problem solving. Mr. Rosenberg leads our sustainability initiatives by teaching LEED AP courses for JN+A employees and educating clients as to the benefits of green design.
He received a Bachelor of Design in Architecture from the University of Florida; a Masters of Architecture from the University of Maryland; and a Master of Science in Real Estate, focusing on development, from Johns Hopkins University. He is a LEED Accredited Professional and is currently an Adjunct Professor at Johns Hopkins, teaching the “Building and Site Design” class in the Master of Science in Real Estate Program.
INAD BILBEISI, LEED AP, JEA, SOU-UAE
Mr. Bilbeisi is an experienced Architectural Engineer and Project Manager. As Studio Director, he is responsible for supervising and reviewing the design and construction documents for projects in the hospitality industry, as well as coordinating the work of consultants and engineers and seeing projects through to completion. Mr. Bilbeisi’s technical knowledge and attention to detail are valuable assets to the HVS Design team.
Before joining HVS Design, Mr. Bilbeisi worked as a Project manager for a hospitality design firm where he coordinated project teams across global offices and participated in aspects of all design phases from concept design through construction administration.
Mr. Bilbeisi received a degree in Bachelor of Architectural Engineering from the University of Jordan.
SUSAN CORDOVILLA-GORTON, NCIDQ, LEED AP
ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF DESIGN
Ms. Cordovilla-Gorton is an Interior Designer with a passion for design and a broad range of design skills from design development, production, and documentation to the presentation and installation administration aspects of the design and construction process. She came to HVS Design as an intern, where her insight and talent became a valued asset to the company, and she was welcomed as a full-time designer. Before coming to HVS Design, she interned at a residential interior design firm, assisting with model apartment homes. In this capacity, she handled specification, furniture installation, and purchasing.
Ms. Cordovilla-Gorton’s creative skills in selecting and specifying finishes and furniture are balanced by her experience in working with CAD design and rendering programs, including AutoCAD 2000 and higher, Autodesk, SketchUp, 3D Studio Viz, the Adobe suite, and many others. Her extensive knowledge of design software has enabled her to train new designers on how to use these programs to create and complete their designs.
Ms. Cordovilla-Gorton received her Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She supplemented her studies by attending a study-abroad program at the Center for European Studies & Architecture in Riva, Switzerland.
LAURA B. KELLEY
DIRECTOR OF MARKETING
Ms. Kelley has over ten years’ experience in Marketing and Corporate Communications. As HVS Design's director of Marketing, she oversees all public and client relations throughout the firm. She diligently manages project leads and is an expert at creating RFPs and Proposals for prospective clients. In addition to completing these tasks, Ms. Kelley also coordinates all speaking engagements, meetings, and trips for the principles of the firm.
She received her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from McDaniel College.
